Gastric Sleeve Surgery
It is a definitive procedure, weight loss is achieved between the 60 al 75% and improvement of diseases that accompany obesity. It involves cutting approximately 80% stomach, creating a new tubular stomach. This procedure works by decreasing the volume of the stomach, thus significantly reduces the amount of food and calories that can be consumed. Another important factor is the hormonal effect that this causes, reducing hunger and increasing satiety and glucose control. There is scientific evidence that gastric sleeve is as effective as gastric bypass in terms of weight loss and remission of diabetes.

Mini Bypass Surgery
During a OAGB procedure, the sur geon first reduces the size of the “working” stomach by separating a tube-like pouch of stomach from the rest of the stomach. This tubular gastric pouch is then connected (anastomosed) to the intestine, bypassing up to 200cm of the upper part of the intestine. This technique differs from the traditional Roux-en-Y Bypass (RYGB) which requires two connections (anastomoses). A OAGB typically results in 30% to 40 % body weight loss from baseline (60-80% excess weight loss). The most rapid weight loss occurs in the first 6 months after surgery and then continues at a slower pace for up to another 18 months. The substantial weight loss may lead dramatic improvement, and even complete remission of many of the obesity-related co morbidities.

Revision Surgery
Revision bariatric surgery involves a surgical procedure performed to modify or correct a previous weight loss surgery. This may be prompted by factors such as incomplete weight loss, complications from the initial surgery, the development of new health conditions, or the persistence of obesity-related issues. Individuals may opt for revision surgery to address these concerns and achieve better outcomes. The decision for revision surgery is made following a thorough evaluation and consultation with healthcare professionals, taking into consideration the individual’s health status and the specific reasons for seeking revision.
